This pendant is skillfully hand carved from a tagua nut. A tagua is a nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. The pendant is then placed on an This pendant is on silver plated chain.
This pendant is hand carved by Ronald and Darwin who live in a coastal region of Ecuador. They select a Tagua nut which is as close to the desired finished shape as possible, the nut is then formed using a variety of sanding processes and polished to achieve a smooth surface. The pendant is coloured using textile dyes and then material is carved away to reveal the contrasting natural material below.

Tagua may darken slightly over time, this is normal. It can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Although hardwearing, if dropped on a hard surface tagua could break. Never immerse tagua in water as this can cause it to crack.
Not suitable for children. This is not a toy.
